Jaguar S-Type Reman Engine S-Type

HISTORY

The S-Type was produced at Jaguar's Castle Bromwich facility in Birmingham, England. The car was styled by the late Geoff Lawson and is based on the Jaguar DEW platform/Ford DEW platform, which it shared with the now out-of-production Lincoln LS, but with substantial modifications.

V6 ENGINE
The Jaguar AJ-V6 engine is a specialized version of Ford's Duratec 25/30 V6. One notable addition is the use of variable valve timing, a feature also shared with Mazda's version of the engine. It is available in 2.0 L, 2.5 L and 3.0 L displacements.

Jaguar's AJ-V6 engine has an aluminium engine block and aluminium DOHC cylinder heads. It uses SFI fuel injection, has 4 valves per cylinder with VVT, features fracture-split forged powder metal connecting rods and a one-piece cast camshaft and has direct-acting mechanical bucket (DAMB) tappets, these design aspects differentiating the AJ-V6 from the Ford and Mazda versions.

Jaguar S-Type R Remanufactured Engine S-Type R

HISTORY
The supercharged S-Type R joined the lineup in 2003, and the hope was that it would compete with BMW's M5 and the Mercedes E55 AMG. The "R" was powered by a supercharged V8 producing 400 hp (300 kW; 410 PS) and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 5.3 s (0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.6 s). It included 18 in (457 mm) alloy wheels, wire-mesh grille and dramatic monochromatic paint. The "R" also has a sportier rear apron, side-skirts, and front apron with built-in fog-lamps, a rear spoiler, a brace located near the rear subframe, and "R" badging on the boot lid and both front wings. It was the most expensive S-Type, with a base price of £50,040 in the UK [1] (US$58,995 in the United States).

V8 ENGINE
The Jaguar AJ-V8 is a compact DOHC V8 piston engine used in many Jaguar vehicles. It was the fourth new engine type in the history of the company. It is available in displacements ranging from 3.2 L to 5.0 L, and a supercharged version is also produced.

The AJ-V8 was designed to use Nikasil-coated cylinders rather than the more-common iron cylinder liners. However, like the BMW M60, high-sulphur fuel reacted with the Nikasil liners and caused engine failures. Jaguar replaced affected engines, and has used conventional cast-iron linings ever since.

*The AJ-V8 was on the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 2000.*

Jaguar S-Type R Remanufactured Engine X-Type

HISTORY

The X-Type is a compact executive car which has been produced by the British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar since 2001. It is the smallest of the current range of Jaguar saloons, and alongside the 1998 S-Type it was intended to spearhead the company’s efforts in emulating the sales of German rivals Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. It is produced at Jaguar Land Rover’s Halewood facility in Liverpool,[1] alongside the Land Rover Freelander/LR2.

XK SERIES

HISTORY
The Jaguar XK series (XK8 and XKR) is a grand tourer produced by British car maker Jaguar since 1996. The car was introduced in Geneva Motor Show on 5 March 1996. It is the replacement of the XJS, and is available as a coupé and convertible. Currently in its second generation, the XK8 was the first 8 cylinder vehicle produced by Jaguar, when the Jaguar AJ-V8 engine was introduced.

V8 ENGINE
The Jaguar AJ-V8 is a compact DOHC V8 piston engine used in many Jaguar vehicles. It was the fourth new engine type in the history of the company.

"The XK8 and XKR were produced with either a 4.0l or 4.2l engine."
